Full Cheeks makes quality products for small pets. I have guinea pigs and buy their Timothy hay, bedding and treats. The hay they sell is greener and smells fresher than other brands. My guinea pigs seem to enjoy eating it more than other hays I’ve tried. Their paper bedding absorbs odor and wetness well. I use the white color and it brightens up my guinea pigs' cage. The paper material is soft so my pigs can burrow and nest comfortably. Their treats like the yogurt drops are a hit with my pigs too. They get excited when they hear the bag. Their Aspen bedding has the right texture - not too soft and not too rough. Soft woods like pine and cedar are unsafe but Aspen is a hardwood that's better for small pets like chinchillas. I also appreciate that they use organic practices to grow their Timothy hay. Poor quality hay can irritate a chinchilla's sensitive digestive system but the Full Cheeks hay has good green color and isn't overly dried out. Their treats seem palatable as well. The ingredients are simple and familiar. I inspected the manufacturing information and was satisfied that their quality control standards are up to par. For hamsters, gerbils, and mice, aim for 2-3 inches of bedding. Guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, and chinchillas need around 4 inches of cozy bedding material. Make sure to spot clean daily and provide fresh bedding weekly.
Our fully modular Full Cheeks® cages allow you to customize the perfect habitat for your roborovski or other dwarf hamster variety. Aim for at least 24 x 12 inches of continuous floor space, with levels and tubes to climb and play. Be sure to provide plenty of chew toys and hiding spots too!
As a naturally clean and dust-bathing creature, a chinchilla only needs a full cage clean 1-2 times per week. Simply remove soiled bedding daily, and replace any Full Cheeks® aspen, paper, or pine bedding 1-2 times weekly. Don’t forget to disinfect the floors and fixtures with a pet-safe cleaner weekly.
Guinea pigs thrive in spacious enclosures filled with fun activities! We recommend a minimum of 30 x 36 inches, but bigger is always better. Fill their Full Cheeks® habitat with 8-12 inches of bedding to dig and burrow in. Ramps, huts, tunnels, and toys keep them entertained. Spot clean daily and full clean weekly.
Both Full Cheeks® pine and aspen shavings make excellent choices for rabbit bedding. Aspen tends to be softer, while pine offers more odor control. Provide at least 3-4 inches of bedding to dig and tunnel in. Avoid cedar shavings, as the oils can irritate sensitive rabbit skin. Spot clean daily and fully change the bedding 1-2 times per week.
Essentials for your new hamster friend include an exercise wheel, hiding huts, tunnels to explore, and chew toys to file down growing teeth. You’ll also need a food dish, water bottle with tube, and 2-3 inches of Full Cheeks® paper or aspen bedding. Customize their habitat with platforms, ladders, and ledges too!
Rats and mice feel most comfortable with fresh bedding. We recommend spot cleaning waste and soiled litter daily, and replacing all the Full Cheeks® paper or aspen bedding 2-3 times per week minimum. Disinfect any plastic fixtures weekly to help control odors and ammonia.
Look for cages with 1/2 inch bar spacing or less to safely contain diminutive pals like hamsters, gerbils, mice, and robos. For larger inhabitants like guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, and rabbits, choose wire spacing of 1 inch or smaller. Full Cheeks® cages are designed with escape-proof spacing for all small animal varieties.
Place your bunny’s litter box in the corner they seem to frequent most. Make sure it’s accessible at all times. Fill the box with Full Cheeks® paper pellets or a recycled paper and pine pellet blend. Scoop waste from the box daily, and dump out all litter 2-3 times per week to keep your rabbit’s habitat clean.
Avoid using cedar, clay, clumping, or scented litters as chinchilla bedding. The dust or oils present can severely irritate their delicate respiratory systems. Instead, use Full Cheeks® aspen bedding or shredded paper to allow for healthy dust bathing. Spot clean daily and fully change bedding 2-3 times per week.
